Meet Dr Mark Bowes
Clinical Director & Advisor
World DSD Master, aesthetic innovator, and teacher — guiding our clinical standard at Trust.
Dr Mark Bowes is recognised globally for aesthetic and complex restorative work. A World Digital Smile Design (DSD) Master & Instructor, he helped pioneer DSD in South Africa — planning natural, minimally invasive smiles around each person’s face and function.
He spent 23 years practising in London before returning to Cape Town, founded the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD), and served as Congress President when Cape Town hosted the IFED World Congress in 2015.
Today, Mark lectures internationally and serves in key organisations, including Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and registered speaker with the ITI, while advising our team on evidence-based, minimally invasive care.
While Mark won’t be practising at the clinic himself, he has personally trained and oversees all of our associates.
Meet Helen Bowes
The operational heart of Trust
Helen Bowes brings 30+ years of hands-on experience running cutting-edge dental clinics. She has led operations and patient experience across practices in both London and Cape Town.
Before co-founding Trust Dentistry, Helen served as Chief Operating Officer at Enamel Clinic and later became CEO of Trust Consulting, where she mentors practices on systems, culture and growth.
At Trust, she shapes the day-to-day rhythm — from the welcome at reception to the clarity of communication and the calm flow of appointments — so patients feel seen, supported and never rushed.
Meet the Team
Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment™ (COHA)
Your first step at Trust Dentistry is our trademarked COHA™ process, a structured oral health assessment that goes far beyond a routine check-up. With COHA™, we map gum health, enamel and decay risk, bite/jaw function and day-to-day habits. You see photos, simple scores and a plan that fits your life.
Making Oral Health Clear and Actionable
We visualise your results as simple scores, so you can see what’s strong, what needs attention, and what to do next, without the clinical overwhelm.
Connecting Mouth and Body
Your scores link to broader health: immunity, cardiovascular risk, sleep quality and energy. Seeing these connections helps you protect overall well-being and productivity.
Care that supports work & life
We design plans that reduce the need for emergency appointments and help you feel your best because healthy mouths mean better focus, fewer sick days, and more confidence at work and home.

Why oral health belongs in wellness
Oral disease is one of the most common chronic conditions worldwide and directly affects comfort, confidence and daily performance — driving absenteeism and presenteeism. In South Africa alone, businesses lose over $1.2 billion in productivity annually to oral-health issues.
